Job summary
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the person in this position assembles furniture, components, and other elements according to work orders and the production schedule.
Responsibilities and duties
Essential
- Measure and assemble furniture components according to work orders;
- Assemble parts and hardware (screwing, fastening, gluing, welding) to create a finished product;
- Trim as needed and clean products to give them their final shape, using hand tools;
- Manually transport panels of various sizes to the work station;
- Inspect components and visually detect defects, or use a measuring tape, according to the required specifications;
- Repair or recycle defective products according to the company’s rules and standards;
- Perform conversion calculations between different units of measurement (imperial vs. metric);
- Perform measurement calculations to ensure product compliance;
- Ensure the weekly maintenance of required component inventories.
